What to Expect

Meet your tour guide at a designated location inside Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park to begin your cultural tour. Head to John Ford’s Point, to explore the area where a few of John Wayne’s movies were filmed.

Continue on to Sun’s Eye Arch and see a demonstration of Navajo culture. Learn about the Navajo tribe who have inhabited this land for hundreds of years. Hear stories of their culture and teachings that have been inherited through many generations and discover the petroglyphs left by the Anasazi people,

The next stop is Big Hogan to snap some photos before heading to Ear of the Wind, the largest rock arch in the park. Visit the Totem Pole and Yei Bi Cheii monuments and learn about the cultural significance of these landmarks before concluding your tour.

This is a must do. The only way to truly see Navajo Reservation.

I did not have to walk great distances. That was a relief to me. We pretty much drive right up to the stops. I’m 66 and in average shape. The road is rough and quite bumpy.
