The 33 million objects housed in the museum cover basically all of Earth’s history, so you’ll be lucky to have a knowledgeable guide break it all down for you. Begin with the museum itself as you learn about its story in the majestic Roosevelt Rotunda where you’ll meet the first of many prehistoric creatures on your visit. Your guide will reveal how the dioramas are made as you explore the giant African mammals of the Akeley Hall.  Then move towards the dinosaur exhibits where you’ll explore some of the most complete collections of dinosaur skeletons in the world. From the gargantuan Titanosaur to the more familiar T-Rex, you’ll feel like a kid again as you learn their stories. You’ll then move on to hear about the North American Forests, featuring the giant Sequoia, before gazing up at the giant Blue Whale hanging overhead in the Hall of Ocean Life. Visit some American mammals as you learn about the National Parks of the United States. Finally, blast off beyond our orbit in the Rose Center for Earth and Space to feel unbelievably insignificant facing the mysteries of the cosmos. Where else in New York can you feel like you’ve traveled through time and space without leaving the Upper West Side?

Our guide Matt was fantastic! We did a private 2&1/2 hour tour of the Natural History Museum which is huge and almost overwhelming, but Matt did a tremendous job of breaking it down into a very interesting and understandable place. He was very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor, and he wanted to make sure that all of our questions were answered. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone interested in natural history as this is an extraordinary museum with a great guide!

You could spend years in the Met but on this tour our guide Mark was able to highlight the best pieces in great detail, which we would have surely missed had we flown solo. Even the less-than-enthusiastic art and history lovers of our group were drawn in throughout the experience. I highly recommend this tour and Mark.

Our tour guide Matt was very knowledgeable and showed us the proper way to experience the museum of natural history. We enjoyed our first time visit there ,especially with the guidance of Matt. I would recommend this tour to anyone interesting in visiting the museum for the first time or as a repeat customer.

I visited NYC with my 9 year old daughter and my 75 year old mother. Long lines were not something that would work well with either of them nor would crowded aimless wandering in a huge museum. I found Babylon tours online and booked without hesitation. Our guide Katherine ushered us through the members entrance so we didn't have to wait in the hours long line. She then had a well paced very fun and informative tour. She slowed down when we needed it and took into account what my daughter was interested in. She was beyond knowledge and so so kind - we were so happy to have spent the afternoon with her and would highly recommend the tour and Katherine!

This tour with Mark was worth every penny and then some!! He kept my 14 year old son excited and engaged the entire time, and taught us both so many things about the beautiful mix of art and science that exists in this museum that you would never recognize without him. He beautifully weaves the mystical, macabre and straightforward facts together into captivating stories that make the time just fly by. I have self toured this museum and it can be overwhelming - with Mark we got to focus on the very best and the things we were most interested in because he took cues from us to customize our time. The other really cool thing was that he shared insights beyond just the museum as we walked, and we learned about the history of the city, too. I will absolutely be seeking his tours out again next year when I bring my daughter to NYC!!

What a wonderful experience we had with Jonathan! I can’t recommend this enough! My nine year old daughter and I met our guide at the front of the museum and he started off by asking what we might be interested in to help tailor the tour. We then entered through the members only entrance and skipped the considerable line at the front. From the moment we entered the museum. Jonathan regaled us with specific information about the museum and the exhibits that would not have been available to us had we been walking ourselves. He really focused on my daughter and made the experience truly special. All in all, an excellent experience and one we will definitely consider again when I am back to NYC with other family members.

Robin was simply amazing! So knowledgeable! You can see the passion she has for this museum. We were all just eating it up but specially my kids. My youngest (ADHD genius) kept interrupting with factoids and questions and Robin just kept engaging her and answering her. I was worried it would overwhelm Robin but she was just fantastic! She even went over time! Can’t say enough good things about Robin and Babylon. Next trip, to any city, I’m just going to book all my tours with them!

Our guide Kathryn was very knowledgeable and interesting. She also sort of customized the info to our interests. This is the best way to see the museum without lines but getting the max experience in a limited time frame:

We loved our tour of the Natural History Museum with Matt as our guide. Skipping the lines & being able to get quickly into the tour was well worth the price of the tour. Matt was very professional and organized in the way he conducted the tour. He provided just the right amount of highlights along with interesting background info that really kept our interest. I was traveling with my son & 14 year old grandson and we all enjoyed Matt & the tour!

My favorite part of the tour was our guide...his experience with the tour and his incredible insight made it so much more fun than if we just walked the museum by ourselves would definitely recommend Mark V. As a guide and Babylon tours...we had a blast!
