Overview

Explore historic Philadelphia on this walking tour of the Old City District, a quick and convenient introduction for first-time visitors. You'll see Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Betsy Ross House, Franklin Court, Carpenters’ Hall, and the Declaration House. Then wander down Elfreth’s Alley, the nation’s oldest continuously inhabited residential street. Plus, choose from multiple departure times to suit your needs.

What to Expect
Meet your guide at a convenient central location and set out to explore Philadelphia’s Old City District. Walk between Old City’s historic landmarks and hear stories about Philadelphia that the locals don’t even know.

Follow your guide to Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Carpenter’s Hall, and the Betsy Ross House, where the first American flag was sewn. Explore Franklin Court, the site of Benjamin Franklin’s home and print shop, and visit his grave site at the Christ Church burial ground. See the Keys To Community sculpture, a bronze bust of Franklin with over 1,000 donated keys worked into the surface.

Then walk down the block to the Declaration House, a red-brick building where Thomas Jefferson lived while drafting the Declaration of Independence. Wander down historic Elfreth’s Alley, and then end your tour or continue exploring on your own.

Amazing

Our tour guide was funny, information, and gave us a all around great tour of the Old City. The tour was about a hour and half long, but gave great information.

Great at making history come alive

Tim did a great job! We have four kids ages 6-15 and all were engaged and entertained by Tim's ability to story tell and weave in interesting details of history that you didn't know were there. Definitely a good value for the family.

I believe they have a tour at 10:00 and 11:00, however I'm not 100% positive. The tour I took was at 11:00. It's a great time, hope it fits into your schedule.
