Informative, colorful arts, history and botany tour.
The tour guide, Sargon, was knowledgeable, friendly and provided interesting anecdotes. It was fun learning about the medicinal uses of trees in the Colonial Burial Ground and African designs in wrought iron work.

    Exceptional botanical tour!
My husband surprised me with a tour as one of my gifts for our anniversary since I am a gardener and enjoy history. We enjoyed Sargon’s tour so much. She is so knowledgeable about all of the plants, flowers, and ironworks. We learned so many things. We throughly enjoyed spending the morning with Sargon. She’s an exceptional person who is loving what she does! We highly recommend this tour!

    Plants!
Sargon was an amazing wealth of information - a great deal of plant information coupled with historical and architectural insight as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

    Natural Beauty and History
Sargon did a fantastic job blending history and knowledge of the plants on the tour. My family and I were the only ones on the tour which gave it a very personable feel to it. Sargon was also very knowledgeable on the cast iron and wrought iron metal work we saw along the tour. Even though we were on the tail end of all the spring flowers blooming, we still saw many beautiful gardens. We will definitely do this again.

    Fun, Informative, and Colorful
This was an excellent tour. Sargon was a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide who told us about a host of historical figures from Savannah history who did some remarkable things you wouldn't normally hear about. Their lives and stories were both important and colorful. This tour is as engaging and different as Savannah, itself. I'd recommend it to anybody. When planning your day and/or parking your car build in an extra 15 minutes because the tour ends about half a mile from where it starts.

    Take this tour
Excellent tour by Sargon. It’s great to see someone who is so passionate and knowledgeable at work. The stories were presented in an objective way and brought to light the stories of people who may have otherwise been overlooked. Highly recommend this tour

Great tour of Savannah's lesser known heroes.
Really had a great time on this tour. Sargon the tour guide, was excellent. She knew so much of the lesser known heroes of Savannah's history. You can tell she loves what she does and wants to tell others about it. The walking tour took us through beautiful areas of the city with very nice stops along the tour. Highly recommend if you want to know about Savannah.

    Great info from our guide
Sargon was our guide. She was so knowledgeable about “everything Savannah”. She was entertaining and delightfully sweet. Her information about all of the trees, bushes & plants was very impressive - along with her knowledge of the cast iron and ironworks around the city. Her history was accurate & enjoyable to hear. I called her an “entertaining nerd” (in a good way).

Fascinating trees and plants in a fascinating city
This was a really great tour. Our tour guide, S. Sargon, was a veritable fount of knowledge about all of the trees, shrubs, and plants but also taught us so much about the buildings, their provenance, the ironwork, and even the one cemetery that we visited. I highly recommend this tour for learning about Savannah's flora and for the opportunity to walk through some of the beautiful parks and streets in this wonderful city.

    Something different and fun!
This tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Sargon was very genial and excited to show us around Savannah. What I really loved about this tour was that it wasn't just botanical. Sargon talked about the iron works, especially as they pertained to design. She taught us how the ironwork designs were brought to the US through the enslaved community and their designs' meanings in Africa. She talked about how the plants were used in different parts of history (medicines, but also to block the "historic smells" of outhouses and horses in Savannah). She was able to answer some historical questions as well. But really, 75% of the tour was about the plants and I learned so much about them. Coming from the Northeast, there were several plants we don't have and also several we do but that look different due to not going into hibernation in the winter. Great tour, highly recommend for anyone with even a slight interest in plants or architecture.

    Terrific tour
Sargon is an incredibly good guide, with a super friendly approach and an extraordinary knowledge of the botanical aspects of the historic district. In addition, she also has really interesting explanations about the many different iron gates in the city. Next time I'm in Savannah I hope to do one of the other tours led by Sargon.

A very interesting and enjoyable botanical walking tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. Would like to see the City provide more accessible restroom facilities.

An Amazing Look at the Stories of Those Overlooked by History
This tour was incredible. As an aficionado of lesser-told history, Sargon's guided explanations were insightful and informative. They did an excellent job providing as much context to the stories, while also keeping the information entertaining and concise. There is so much I learned on this tour that I would love to share, but if you are considering this tour you are much better off having them tell you instead!

Sargon is the tour guide with the mostest. She exudes enthusiasm and knowledge about any aspect of Savannah history we were able to ask about. She really seems to be in love with the city and delights in imparting information. This goes for the men and women of the past--the ones on the statutes--the architecture, the commerce, the flora and fauna of the region. She can emphasize the aspects about which you are the most curious.

Sargon’s love of history and general knowledge made this the best historical tour I have ever been on. We learnt so much, not only about the wealth of historical events that occurred in Savannah, but about the first air conditioned house, the cotton trade, plants, as well as good restaurants and the best chocolate store! It was a highlight of our trip to Savannah. Definitely highly recommend this.
