Your Oak Alley Plantation and Laura Plantation tour from New Orleans starts when you board a minibus in downtown New Orleans for a comfortable ride to the plantations. Oak Alley is beautiful and well preserved! Well worth a visit. Negative in our view: Too much focus on the rich owners, and too little focus on the slavery. The cafe could need a makeover.

We visited both plantations and overall everyone in our group agreed that the Laura Plantation tour was far better than the Oak Alley tour. The Laura Plantation was a Creole sugar farm and differed considerably from the Oak Alley plantation. There was much more history
