Overview
Salem has a history unlike nearly any city in the United States. This tour offers a unique way to learn about the 1692 witch trials while taking a guided walk through some of Salem's most storied—and perhaps haunted—sites. You’ll get a combination of authentic New England history and an exploration of witchcraft, voodoo, vampires, and ghost sightings without too many gimmicks.
What to Expect
Head to the Revere Bell in front of the Salem Visitor Center, where the tour begins. Set off on a light walking tour of the historic town center with a guide who is also a historian and paranormal investigator.

Your guide will quickly delve into the history of the 17th-century Salem witch trials. Stop at Old Burying Point Cemetery, where you’ll find a witch trial judge's tombstone. Then, learn about the story of the slave Tituba, who was accused of practicing voodoo.

Later, visit the Witch Dungeon to hunt for specters. The guide will help you search any photos you take for evidence of paranormal activity, such as orbs, apparitions, and ectoplasm. See, too, photos taken at some of Salem’s most haunted sites, and learn about how ghost hunters do their work.

The tour takes a horror-story turn with New England vampire folklore and documented cases of blood-drinking, before finishing up back at the Revere Bell.

Dr. Vitka made the 2 hour drive from Connecticut well worth it! I would highly recommend this tour, as it was entertaining not only to my believer girlfriend, but to a skeptic such as myself. It is easy to tell that Dr. Vitka is dedicated...More

Great guide, great tour.

I enjoyed our guide and I hope I can retrace the cool things he showed us at night. I loved the Houdini references and going to more commercial sites that had originally been part of the the witch hysterical, but were plowed over. The part...More

There were infants when we went. Just a lot of walking, so I would suggest a stroller.
