Matthew was just sooo accommodating and impressive on his knowledge of Hawaiian history. He also has excellent driving skills in the downtown Honolulu area. I would recommend this tour as you learn very interesting local Hawaiian Royal history that really isn't in the history books. Then we headed over to Pearl Harbor and the National Park area with numerous tours on various naval vessels in addition to USS Arizona. Overall, I would rate this as an excellent tour in which you learn quite a bit of information and get a flavor for the Hawaiian/WW II experience.

For this trip we had the option to get a German speaking guide which was a great way for us to experience the island. All stops were wisely chosen and our guide Christiane was very knowledgeable and able to tell us many interesting facts. She also had some great stories for us that she shared with us during longer rides between stops. Overall a great experience and we want to thank Daniel and Christiane for this great tour. Mahalo

Our tour guide, Matthew, was super nice and communicated with me from the beginning of the day, making sure we got picked up til drop off time. Wish we would of done it at the beginning if the trip.He told us all the places to see and eat. Super historical information. Even made sure to point us in the direction to make Pearl Harbor a little more entertaining for the kids. Will definitely rebook with Daniel's when we are able to return(for visit or moving here, lol) and would love to have Matthew as our guide again.

We specifically signed up for this tour because it offered a nine o’clock start, a pickup at our hotel and a small group of no more than 14 passengers. Within ten minutes of confirming payment, I got a text message changing the pickup time to be 7:50 and saying they couldn’t pickup at our hotel. Fortunately, we only had to walk a few blocks. We were picked up by a small bus, driven to a different hotel and then transferred to a completely full 40 person bus. The guide was very jovial but his English was poor and he was very hard to understand. The microphone had so much feedback that he had to just speaking loudly. The trip was scheduled for six to seven hours, but we didn’t get back until 5:30 (9 1/2 hours). We also were not brought back to our hotel but left at the transfer point.

1. Bait and Switch
Hawaii has a lot of visitors at the moment. To make sure we can accommodate everybody and don’t have to cancel, we sometimes have to use vehicles with up to 25 passengers (40 passenger vans don’t exist). This was the case for your tour. You were on a 25 passenger van.
We mention this in the tour description.
2. Change of pickup time
Whenever we have bigger groups, we pick up a little earlier so we don’t have to rush the tour. We want you to have enough time for pictures and enjoy the scenery on the tour.
We plan enough time for lunch and at the macadamia nut game for free coffee tasting and free macadamia nut tasting and, if you like, souvenir shopping.
This is the reason we pick up a little earlier - to make sure you have enough time at every location.
We notify every guest per text message if we have to adjust the pick up time. In your case 10 minutes after booking - You could have called or even cancelled at that time and we would have supported your full refund, even though it was only 12 hours prior to the tour.
We want you to be happy!
3. Microphone issues
Mahalo for this information. We will let the guide know and fix this as soon as possible.
4. Length of tour
We apologize the tour went longer than expected. Sometimes it’s tough to have everybody on the bus in time. People get distracted and forget time over the beauty of Hawaii.
We want everybody to enjoy the island.
5. Hotel pickup
You stayed at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel - beautiful Hotel by the way. We are not allowed to pick up in front of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. Pick up and drop off for the Royal Hawaiian Hotel is about 3 minutes from the Hotel on Don Ho Street.
Every guest receives a text message the day prior to the tour where the exact pick up and drop off spot is shown.
We are sorry the 3 minute walk was too long for you. Please contact the hotel and have them reconsider their pick up location. Maybe next time we are allowed to pick you up in front of the hotel.

Evan was a fantastic tour guide. We enjoyed everything about our tour. He was so knowledgeable about the island and all the stops. He was so kind, caring and grave great advise on other spots to see In oahu. Evan was attentive to all clients and answered questions. He made us laugh and was so genuine

Sierra took us on this tour. We were the first group to ride in their new Mercedes van - it was soooooo nice! Not only was she knowledgeable of the island's history, she's actually a local and native. This allowed her to share insights and experiences that were handed down to her from her parents and grandparents. She was engaging, personable, and just so honest, that we left Hawaii with a totally different perspective than we had before.

This was the perfect tour to see the island and get some ideas on what else you might want to see. Johnny did a great job of giving us history and interesting facts. Because he often works as an extra on shows we watch like Magnum PI and Hawaii 5-0 he had a lot of interesting stories about the show and where filming took place. We loved the shrimp lunch stop too. We definitely recommend asking for Johnny as your guide.

You guys this tour was amazing!! Our tour guide Sierra is a Hawaii native so she had so much information and fun facts. She is also really funny and really kind! This is a great way to tour the island especially if you don’t want to do the driving. There are many stops and each one is as beautiful as the last. I loved the small-group tour better than the big buses stuffed with 20+ people. This is a way more personalized experience and you get to connect with those around you.

This was a fun way to see the island.
If you have rented a car for your trip, there really isn't a need to do this tour, because you could just drive around yourself and stop where you want. It's easy to find your way, as there aren't many roads to make a wrong turn on.
Our guide was very nice and knew the island well. He was very concerned, however, about getting back to Waikiki before the Honolulu traffic picked up in the afternoon. This is fine (nobody likes sitting in traffic), but it limited what we could see. I would have liked to watch the surfers on the North Shore, but we didn't have time.

Awesome tour! Our guide Daniel was extremely knowledgeable, caring and flat out fun. The Mercedes van was air conditioned and I enjoyed the small group size which allowed us a very custom experience. Highly recommend.

My fiancé and I booked a private tour and it was amazing! Can’t say enough good things about our wonderful tour guide, Cameron. He was SO knowledgeable and we learned so much about the island while seeing beautiful sites and going to the best local spots. He was also a great photographer! Highly recommend splurging and booking the private tour. It was SO worth it!

Had a great day with Santiago at the helm. He took us to beautiful spots and gave us time to take it all in, while also keeping us on schedule. It was a great education about the island as well, all done in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
The van was new and comfortable. Thought it was very nice to receive a call from the company on the morning of the tour providing a more definitive ETA, and then received another call from Santiago to officially confirm the time
Take this tour, and you will see fabulous views. You'll also have a great lunch at the Food Truck stop. It was well worth the price and the time.

Had a private tour with Johnny and had blast. Started with tickets to the USS Arizona Memorial, then visited Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, Halona Blowhole, Makapu'u Lookout, Byodo-In Temple, and Chinaman’s Hat. We’re able to go with both sets of parents and they loved every minute of it. I would highly recommend! I hope you get Johnny as well.

No. Ours did not stop at the botanical gardens. They do offer other half day and full day with different stops on the itinerary that may stop there.
