I found most of the sun loungers at Karon to be 100B, Kata were charging 200B, that's expensive, beer you can pick up at many shops cheaper than the vendors at the beach, many charge more and keep the change.

Hi Mary ...well I guess it depends on your budget first and then it depends on what you consider expensive.In my experience which was last month of October things were quiet reasonable for me as I was on a budget and the South African rand was abit weak at the time. from what I heard is that in January after the high peak season of November & December things are still relatively reasonable ...so it will slightly also depend on a currency exchange...and bargaining skills lol.
