It was a place to go and I enjoyed it, but as far as feeling spiritual..... well it is just so commercialized and it makes it hard to feel the peace. Looking at the countryside is another story. To think Jesus May have stepped in...More

No, this is not the actual place where Jesus was baptized. But it is the Jordan River. Like most places along a Holy Land tour/pilgrimage there will be tourists, lots of people. But if you can focus on why you are actually there, it can...More

It was wonderful to witness several baptisms at this place. This is one of two traditional baptismal sites. It is also worth taking a walk around Yardenit.

I visited this site as a member of a tour group. Our group leader asked us to wear a dark t-shirt and dark shorts for this excursion. When we arrived, we were given a white robe and towel. The changing rooms were quite busy but...More

We did a two-day road trip through Israel and Yardenit was one of our stops. I am glad we stopped. While we watched people being baptized a peace came over us. It reminded me of a quote by Convey, “We are not human beings on...More

Yardenit offers an amazing opportunity to experience baptism in the Jordan river. It's a well-organized site. It might be a good idea to take a white robe for baptism with you, you can by one onsite, but it's not a cheap option .It's not a...More

There are apparently two places for visitors and we were told this is the better and cleaner place to go. We did not participate in Baptism but witnessed a group going through it and was amazing to see. The water is not the cleanest but...More

Klara1969, I believe that there is someone there who is employed by Yardinit to baptize you. However, if they don't, you can just ask one of the other groups if their pastor will baptize you. It is one of the highlights of... More
