We visited the Museum as part of a guided tour arranged with Explorenique. The displays are well presented using modern technology and you can elect to take headphones with commentary which we did. Some of the commentary was a bit too lengthy and boring but...More

The ongoing exhibition is about Thainess, explaining how it evolves during time. The museum uses various methods to convey the concept. The museum is easily accessible by the underground train.

Glad we came here to learn about the Thais and Thai-ness! Some interesting insights about the country including its history, beliefs and (of course) food. There's quite a lot of interactivity and if you were with young children there're lots of games and things to...More

I just went to the museum yesterday. It was so crowded maybe because it was a free entrance on the day. The museum is much better than I expected. I'm so delighted that finally, Thailand has a nice museum for people to enjoy. Curators there...More

The main exhibition in the museum, defining Thainess, examines Thai identity throughout recent history and is a fascinating insight into what makes up a cultural identity. The multiple rooms in the exhibit are interactive and cater to kids and adults alike. The museum is easily...More

One of the most stimulating museums I have been to and it focuses on critically thinking about and examining Thai identity and historiography. All these are done with a tone that is low-key sarcastic and subversive and makes you question not just the state-endorsed "Thainess",...More

We went to Museum Siam having read about it in our guide book. We were thoroughly impressed by the exhibition which explores the idea of defining “Thainess” through different rooms. Each room explores a variety of elements of Thai culture (such as food, clothes, education...More

I loved the European (perhaps Portuguese?) architecture of the museum that used to be the ministry of commerce. The ceiling heights and room sizes and wooden floors and colonnades made this a great place to wonder around for an hour or so. Entry for non...More
