Taking a tour of the Holy Land with a group, this was an important stop for us to discuss the meaning of the area. The actual area that is believed to be where John the Baptist baptized Jesus is in an area we did not...More

Visited for a short while while travelling and it was worth the stop, not much of a river, but the site is well set out and is made convenient for entering the water.

On our way to Jericho, our driver made a stop. We've heard so much about it so we wanted to see it. We arrived just a few minutes before 3 pm on a Friday (the site closes at 3 on Friday) so when we arrived...More

the site has been renovated and cleaned, with plenty of space and shade for the christians and non-christians that wish to visit it, you can touch the waters and feel how narrow the Jordan river is, clean bathrooms and places to shower and change clothes....More

Had a brief stop over as part of a group, many people in the water get baptised. What I found really odd was there was no pastor in sight to make it authentic felt more like a touristy trap.

Lovely place to visit for christians and not christians. There is something special about the place. This is the spot in the Jordan where Jesus was baptized. It is close to Jericho and the Dead Sea. From the Israeli site you can see the other...More

Honestly, who knows where the exact place of Jesus' baptism took place? Our tour guide from the Jordanian side, that theirs was more authentic and the Israeli said theirs is more authentic. Anyway, this site was very clean; it had toilets and a gift shop....More

It is in a security zone and I doubt you can enter without a tourist bus.
