We have been 4 times during our extended stay here in Panama. In my opinion, the main attraction to El Valle de Anton is the beautiful drive up to the town. The town is nice but the drive is spectacular. We take one route up...More

For the traveler looking to relax, and get away from the beach scene, or the hustle of the big city, this is your venue. Very pleasant and relaxing town. Using public transportation to get there is scary, but once there, everything is within walking distance.

This is a lovely mountain town, they are upgrading the streets and putting in sidewalks. Lots of nice restaurants, stores and a great little farmers market for fresh food in the town. See my review of Los Mandarinos Boutique Hotel

Great town, it’s a bit of a hike from Panama City, but worth it. There are plenty of activities to do from the market, to the hot springs, to the waterfalls, to the wild life sanctuary. There is a great cafe on the Main Street,...More

Bustling with tourists, a lovely town to spend some time in. Make sure to hit the market and the local bakery for their yummy cinnamon buns.

Super glad we didn’t take a tour up there, crazy prices! We rented a car and headed up! You must not be faint of heart, speed limit is 40kmh for a reason! Winding roads are putting it mildly.. both hands on the wheel a must!...More

We were a tad let down on our visit to El Valle de Anton. We spent 2 days in Panama City before taking the bus to El Valle. To be fair, our expectations may have been more in line with what we'd experienced in other...More

Valle de Anton's main drag is a mess due to so much construction of buildings and widening of the main road. Dusty, congested and confusing. Suggest exercising extreme patience with a dash of zen. Because the town is expanding rapidly with ex-pats and tourists the...More

I suggest you contact Kevin at Barefoot Panama. He runs a variety of adventure tours out of Panama City and can provide you with the options for the season...which is the dry season.
