If you have seen the Beach , everyone knows Maya Bay , this is an amazing spot to come visit , with its crystal clear waters, to get here the best way is to hire a water taxi from Koh phi phi, now I would...More
As all the other reviews discuss, you can’t actually set foot on the beach due to previous over-tourism ruining the local eco-system. We took a long tail boat to Maya Bay and the boat parked up about 20 metres from the beach itself within the...More
We booked on a half day snorkelling trip that I was assured by the salesperson went to Maya Bay. It DIDN'T. The area is closed due to the damage caused by overuse. Some upmarket boats do cruise in there but anchoring and landing are not...More

Hi there Phi Phi is amazing for family but just remember when booking to stay on the Island that it tends to be a party Island in the evening. All the tour operators are generally honest and deliver on their word. We have been 3 times to Thailand and have used the street vendors that look like they are there permanently and are usually with other businesses. Just book with the agents that have a stand or store.
The last Time I heard Maya Bay was closed to guests. But that doesn't stop you from touring Patong, It is amazing. Freedom Beach is spectacular but take snacks and drinks... Also see Kamala and Surin Beaches, they are super child friendly and breath taking.
Regarding food, there are many stands that provide veg options and the best travel insurance you would need to get is through T.I.C they are comprehensive.
