I took a surf class with William, and he is a great, patient teacher that helped me to improve my technique!

I stayed in Bocas del Toro for around two weeks and Escuela del Mar (EDM) was one of the first places I visited. I had some surfing experience before, but I could never really put it all together. With the teaching that EDM provided, I was catching my own waves and riding them to completion within a short amount of... More
I took three surf classes with Tommy (I don't know if that is the good way to write it :)) and it was awesome ! We had great time, the sea is warm, nobody in the water and good teaching for beginners :) If you want to surf in bocas, go there !
I was fortunate to be connected with William Villareal, one of the surf instructors during recreational time in Costa Rica. It was my third attempt at surfing and although I'm athletic, I lacked confidence in my ability to stand up that day. On the third run William had me standing on the board! He is patient, bilingual, and seems to... More
This was one of the best surf schools I've used. While I did not participate in lessons, Lea (& team) were incredible taking me out on tours to various surf breaks and being honest with me when there were no waves to be found. Pricing was reasonable and they truly treated you like family. Watching those who were taking lessons,... More
12 and 17 enjoyed an afternoon of surfing with Lea (from Mar del Plata- Argentina) , Jose and Jamie Janes. Kids had a blast, learned & had fun. It was easy to booked thru the company Panama Vacations and easy to get there (by water taxi - 2$ per person). Highly recommended!
I've had a couple of lessons on and off before and decided to book with these guys while I was visiting Bocas. So glad I did! Had the best time on Carenero and William's the best surf instructor I've had. Go out there with him and he'll help you catch the best waves, he knows it well. We stayed out... More
Had my first surf lessons here: and the lesson started with the question; do you want a picture that says you surfed or do you actually want to learn how to surf? I reaaaally wanted to learn. My instructor, William, was rather though and was not fooling around. He told me the ugly truth that I had to fight hard... More
This store has a very good location at the downtown Colon Island. I went there to fix my surf board and to rent one while my was getting fixed. I was very pleased with the service that an Argentine call Franco gave me, he was very nice and helpful. They do have a good selection to rent and sell. Good... More

Aloha! Do you rent boards to travelers who aren't students? If not can you recommend somewhere? I typically ride either a 6ft fish or 8'9" longboard. Would love it if you rented out fiberglass boards. My husband also would like to bodyboard, so please also advise if you rent those (and fins) too. Thank you!!!
