Cayman's most-visited and perennially popular land-based attraction, Cayman Turtle Centre: Island Wildlife Encounter hosts more than 300,000 visitors each year. Conservation of sea turtles and other island wildlife with associated research and education are at the heart of the company's mission. The park is also a vital component of the country's economy, providing a world-class tourist attraction that is truly one-of-a-kind: the only institution in the world that successfully breeds green sea turtles, releases captive-bred sea turtles into the wild, and allows visitors to get "up close and personal" with sea turtles in various exhibits and supervised encounters. Local and Caribbean birds, marine predators, crocodile and other island wildlife are also featured in this Grand Cayman island favorite "must-see".

We spent a few hours in the front section of the park early in the morning. Was not crowded and our kids spent a lot of time in the touch pool. Buy turtle food in the gift shop to feed turtles (and chickens & iguanas!).

Best vacation ever! Bendel Banks met with us on an early Sunday morning and gave us the history and taught us about turtle conservation!

We heard many negative things about the turtle center but decided to check it out since it was a short drive from our condo. We went later in the afternoon once the crowds from the cruise ships had cleared and literally had the place to...More

We toured without children, but could see the value of this attraction for families. A concrete pool filled with giant sea turtles, so you get an up close experience. Very safe, very clean, if a little staged and imitation. The turtles are real enough. Go...More

This is the cutest place with knowledgeable staff. It was clean and well maintained. We loved being able to swim with the turtles and also go in the tanks with the smaller turtles and hold them. Who knew that rubbing a turtles chin/neck calmed them...More

This was a quick stop on a tour of the island, but it was well worth the time. We saw the enormous turtles, and even got to hold some young ones. We were also able to feed the birds in the aviary, holding our arms...More

While we had an enjoyable afternoon at the turtle encounter, when we held the baby turtles a "profession photographer" took a picture. For $25.00 I was handed a microchip instead of a printed picture. I know the new way to do things! My disappointment is...More

This was part of our tour. Very nice to see the turtles big and small. They have a wading pool where you can go hold turtles. Also an area where you can just ask to hold the turtles. The hatchery wasn't open when we were...More

We paid $19 for only the turtle section of the park. It literally was just a few tanks and took us ten minutes to see everything. Really not worth the money - with all the turtles on the island I wouldn't waste the money to...More

You should be able to upgrade. We have not done this, but saw another couple do it. Seemed to go smoothly for them. Hope that helps. Enjoy RABBIT

We were picked up from and brought back to the hotel by shuttle bus "free". (I assume the ticket price included the transport.) We did tip the driver. Could not be more convenient!
