Southeast Asia is usually associated with a wet, tropical environment, but, in the area of Mui Ne, Vietnam, lays a beautiful desert. white sandunes is 50km away from mui ne central ,the city of Mui Ne is four hours from Ho Chi Minh City, in the south of the a further 45 minutes, and you arrive at Bau Trang, Bau Trang, or the White Sand Dunes, is one of the only desert areas in Southeast Asia and is a beautiful expanse of dunes and sand. There are no camels here; instead, shepherds herd cows through the sandy expanse. Perhaps the most striking part of the area is a small lagoon covered in lotus flowers. Beside the lake, there is also a small pine forest that makes the wind cool, even in the hot Asian desert.

Recommend to use the jeep / ATV service. Will bring you to upper part, 1 million VND for 5 people (1 jeep). Nice place, worth the visit. Unexpected nature sight seeing in land of Vietnam. Best to come at 5PM when the sand is not...More

Significant dunes with a catch. To get to the top of the dunes you must pay a rather steep 200000 VND per person for a round trip to top on the back of an ATV or in a 4WD. 5 minutes each way although on...More

So we borrowed a quad for 2 person. We paid 800k dong which is pretty steep and we probably got ripped off, but it was great fun to ride on the dunes and i dont regret paying a single dong :D

Worth taking the time to visit the dunes and the thrill ride of an ATV ride up the dune. It was so exciting but the drivers are very experienced. Cost 200,000VND per person but worth every cent. It does cost more for a Jeep ride...More

If you are a nature lover go and explore on foot - best way. Don't get bikes or jeeps. Worth walking and exploring. It will take you not more than an hour or two depending on your pace and weather conditions.

The dunes itself are a stunning and beautiful scenery. Your jeep/tour guide will most likely suggest you to lease a quad because you evidently do not have the time that is enough to view the sunset later. This's false. It is going to take you...More

Nice view from the top, but if you want transport it’s gonna cost you. We paid more for 60 sec of atv-transport than a whole day of jeep-rental with driver.

On the day I went I wore sandals / thongs. It is very windy on the top of the dunes and so a light scarf to protect the face. Women should wear short or long pants because of the strong wind. Take a water bottle as well.
