It was a part of our trip. Maithon panchet and others via Barakar. Believe me friends this is a bigger dam than maithon but you may like maithon more. There was a snake museum nearby which can be included. You can also visit the garden just besides the dam. It's open from 3 PM till 5 PM. So plan accordingly.... More

The Panchet Dam was the last of the four multi-purpose dams of the first phase of the Damodar Valley Corporation. It was constructed across the Damodar river at Panchet in Dhanbad district in the state of Jharkhand, and was opened in 1959. Driving down the dam was an unforgettable experience, with the Panchet hill rising from the reservoir water on... More

Panchet dam is on the bank of river Damodar and is located in Jharkhand, but its closeness to the border of West Bengal and Bihar makes it easily accessible from both these states. Tourists can reach this place, by reaching Kumardhubi, which happens to be the closest railway station just 10 km from Panchet dam via the Grand Chord Line.... More

My suggestion is not to visit Garpanchakot-Baranti. the place is nice with scenic beauty but the Local Natives are very hostile , they are very poor , with literally no income, so they always target tourists for money. Starting from cab driver, local shop owner etc etc everyone unnecessarily harasses tourists for money. If you are going by train , auto... More
