This temple attraction is more for locals instead of leisure tourists seeking to find the old world charm. For one thing you would have to walk awhile to get to the temple entrance, following which You climb 700 odd steps barefooted on steps lined with...More

We went to Mount Popa and it was not what I expected . Do not wear sunglasses even on top of your head because the monkeys will attack! I made this mistake and was chased by a teeth bared monkey for ten feet. There are...More

This is more or less day trip from Bagan. If you have the time, it is really worth seeing. You can go right to the top and the path is shaded, also cleaned all the time. Make sure to stop at Popa Mountain Resort for...More

If you like walking barefoot in monkey urine and poop you are going to love Mt Popa. We went for the sunset and we're disappointed. The view did not redeem the journey through minefields of monkey crap. This place is dirty even for Myanmar. Also...More

Horrible experience! We came because we had a spare day in Bagan and it turned out to be something horrible... Full of waste, monkey pee and poo, and agresive monkeys all over the place! Use your time somewhere else

The view on Mt.Popa is amazing, but once you go there on the stairs you realized it is one of the most dirty places you have ever visited on Myanmar.

We took tickets to mount poppa from bagan, half day tour, without reading reviews first. Then we did read them and there were lots of reviews about how trashy the place is with monkey poop everywhere... So our impression was ruined and we thought that...More

This temple broke my heart. It was filthy dirty. Very disappointing visit. The vista from the top is superb, but the rubbish was horrible. Lots of beggars on the steps asking for money for 'cleaning' but the place was so dirty! Monkeys everywhere. Monkey poo/pee...More
