I would recommend taking a 4x4 with a plank and shovel for this one! As for the safety aspect from within the cave and rock pools, please make sure that you know your time limit as the tide comes up quickly and one can get stuck with no where to go.

Arniston is a beautiful place! The sea is gorgeous and the houses attractive. It is so worthwhile packing a picnic for the day and heading to Roman beach or pack a rugsack filled with refreshments and take a walk to the Arniston Caves. These are a must to see. This needs to be done at LOW tide. I'd suggest wearing... More

Just a short walk to the cave, and what an amazing view from within and experience. Must go at low tide, and rocks a bit tricky so wear sensible shoes.

Stunning location and great backdrop for beautiful pics. Really enjoyed spending a bit of time in the cave watching the ocean and waves splashing..

If you fancy a long sandy beach walk - go but b prepared to get yer feet wet and be warned fair amount of steep steps, and difficulty to reach second cave entrance

These caves are just outside the village and is an easy walk from the hotel. If you have a 4x4, you can drive to the cliff above the caves but beware: it is very bumpy. The climb down to the rocks is over uneven terrain but easily manageable for most people. The indications are scanty but turn right at the... More

It is well worth a visit, but make sure you are there about a hour before low tide, it give you time to explore and take pictures whilst knowing the tide is still going out. We left 2 hours before low tide and had a slow walk down, so beautiful you forget about the walk. You can drive very near... More

Walk to this interesting cave, unless you have a 4x4. You can only get to see at low tide. We went on a weekend and there was a steady stream of visitors going to this popular site.
