Rather well preserved structure, sometimes enriched by temporary exhibitions of various kinds. The rooms that can be visited give an idea of the medieval environments and are embellished with restored frescoes. You can then reach the top of the tower from which you can enjoy a wonderful view over the surrounding area. The entrance fee costs 2 euros but it's worth it

the castle of Capalpio is just one of the gems to visit. What was indicated by the positive reviews of those who preceded me was very useful for me in building a route to visit the entire village: don't miss the sections of walls, both the high route and the low route, aware that you pass a few centimeters from the door of who is lucky enough to live in the village. A village worth visiting not only for its beauty but also to treat yourself to an excellent food and wine moment at the right price. It's true that the Rocca and Palazzo Collacchioni can be visited in an hour and the rooms are mostly bare but you can't miss the view from the top of the Rocca and the room with Puccini's piano forte with a beautiful fireplace.

The castle of Capalbio was a part of donation from Charlemagne to Abbey of Saints Anastasio and Vincenzo in 805 so it’s here more than 1218 years.
The beautiful tower was built in the 15th century under the domination of Republic of Siena

Beautiful walled city with gorgeous surrounding views. The alley ways are totally picturesque. Only little and the shops dont open until 10.30 so very quiet until then. You can explore it all in under an hour.

Capalbio is so beautiful! You must check it out if you have the chance. You can come by train, it's definitively easier than by bus. The train station is far from the town but you could rent a car. The castle is gorgeous.. Surrounded by many houses, there's a beach and the town could be walked in about 3 hours. I loved it every time I saw it. Also check out the little stores. They're pretty cool!

A nice place well kept. It's a small tour but with a lot of caracther. It gives you the feeling of what it was in the ancient times.

We spent 6 days in Capalbio and each night visited this lovely walled town with it's winding streets and lovely little antique houses. A walk around the castle walls offers lovely views across the Maremma and down to the sea.

I liked going there, but we only stayed for 30 minutes or so. There are a few restaurants, but not much to see and the village is really poorly maintained.

We had a couple hours to have lunch and wander around the castle. There are lots of beautiful views from the walls and people do a wonderful job making their doorways welcoming with lots of flowering planters.

Di solito i passeggini vengono lasciati all'ingresso e li "custodiamo" noi.
Arrivederci
