I visited Renishaw Hall and Gardens with friends in August of 2016, and it was wonderful. The day was gorgeous - warm, but not too hot to enjoy the walk in the gardens. After, we had refreshments at the charming little cafe on the grounds. It was such a pleasant experience, and I'd love to go back and tour the... More

i did a wine tour here which i found very interesting. the gardens are superb, but a little expensive so you have to time your visit for full bloom season. the cafe is a really nice treat and a nice spot for afternoon tea. its all really well done, but not a cheap afternoon out.

Gardens not cheap to visit but our family think they are worth it. Paying an entrance fee means there's a sense of space once your in. There's the formal garden part which is very impressive and them a quirky part with a trail through the woods where there are children's characters in the foliage. There's a steep walk down to... Our first visit here and we were not disappointed. We booked a Friday lunchtime tour of the house and the Guide ( Margaret) gave us a fascinating insight into the Sitwell family - It was so interesting, we didn't want it to end!! Worth every penny!! The grounds are beautiful and you can enjoy a shorter wander around the more... More

Lovely setting, nice outdoor area. But food was a big letdown! Lots of other customers left full plates! Bread was dry and not fresh. Scone was uncooked in the middle. Won't be back☹

A day trip from London to Chesterfield and back to visit the Sitwell family’s Renishaw Hall is very achievable if you are willing to do the two hours each way train trips to Derbyshire. What will be a memorable day needs a bit of careful planning, but is well worth the little effort required. Buy your train tickets on the... More

I live locally and have never visited before. The hall and gardens are lovely especially on a sunny day. The hall is open to the public by guided tour on certain days only and it would probably be advisable to book in advance. The tour was informative and interesting. Highly recommended. I can't comment on the tea room as I... More

We went several years ago and very much enjoyed the gardens. We went back for a tour of the house and lunch and had a wonderful time. It is very much a family business and the personal touch is everywhere. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. The café is expertly run and the menu clearly indicates what is gluten... More
