The ride is on a trail, as others have said, and slow. The engines are 2 cycle and produce a lot of exhaust, which I breathed the entire time. The view is good but no better than you can get from the ski slope. The actual riding time is only an hour; the other hour is spent waiting for people... More

Big Al works very hard to keep you safe, but the terrain doesn't allow for fast speed as the trail is semi narrow and if you get off of the trail it wouldn't be good. It is more of a tour than a snowmobile ride, so it probably didn't meet my expectations. With that being said, it is beautiful and... More

We really enjoyed our trip with Big Al. He was kind and personable. There will always be a need for instruction and precautions when taking a large group on a potentially dangerous activity. We appreciate the concern for safety. The views were spectacular and we look forward to returning for the horseback riding trip!

This snowmobile trip has become a family legend for how awful it was. First, Big Al was very specific about being on time, and he only accepts cash. However, he greedily waited over 2 hours for a family that was late, and then had to go find cash. That, would have been a mild annoyance except we were SUNSET tour;... More

I was a bit skeptical when we pulled into the Taos ski area. The instructions from Big Al were very clear but there was a lot of construction going on. We parked per the directions and Big Al pulled up next to us right one time. We knew we selected the right outfit right from the start. The ride up... More

We found Big Al's horseback adventures by a brochure at the motel in Taos. I was concerned about the weight limit and couldn't find any vendor in Colorado that would let me ride. I weigh 265 and most limits are 220 or less. Big Al could accommodate up to 280 so we called him up and had a ride leaving... More

We had a great horseback riding experience with Big Al, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to see some beautiful scenery! This isn't a ride that you just pick up on the street corner that wanders through some sage brush in the flat desert. Big Al drove us up the mountain to his Cowboy Camp (elev 11,000 ft),... More

Big Al runs one of the finest and best tourists activities I have ever done. My daughter and I took his snowmobile tour where Al takes you high in the mountains, where he has private access to old mining roads throughout the Kit Carson National Forest above the Taos Ski Valley Resort. His tour is challenging enough to keep you... More

My family of 4 had s great time snowmobiling. My five year old loved it! The two year old not as much. You meet the guide at the deck of St Bernard and then they take you to a truck where you load up and are driven to where the snowmobiles are. After a quick lesson on how to drive,... More
