Only for good walkers. Tiring but Worth it...Access is forbidden yet there is parrking for 3 euros because everyone goes to the lakes and forgets about the fact it is forbidden, and parking is free down the road!

Cava Grande is not easy to find: a lack of sign made it quite hard to find the place, but once you find it, it is so worth the trip. A beautiful hike (easy) in nature, in well-defined paths (a bit too "human-made"), with stunning views.

A very hectic walk to the very bottom and a very tough walk back up ! However, it was all worth it even jumping into the freezing water.

Lovely spot to get some peace & quiet. Nature reserve is tranquil. Walk down OK, uphill strenuous. Small cafe at top with shaded seating area & clean toilets. Road up very picturesque - good view point halfway. Take the SP route to pazzolo arecia after- great village (see other review)

This is not for the faint hearted. It is a beautiful, natural place and there is a steep dangerous climb down and one muust be very fit to do it.

It's not easy getting there - hard on the knees going down and hard on the highs coming back up, but absolutely worth the effort. Series of river pools and small waterfalls with something for everyone, paddling, swimming, plunge pools for diving into. Look out for the crabs...

Great nature escape to enjoy for a couple of hours or even more. You have to walk down for 45 minutes (and up) but it really worth the visit! Take some food and water with you...

It's a bit of the ride up the hill to get to the top but what a view. There is swimming water pools located at the middle of mountain. Hiking shoes strongly advised. It took us around 1 hour to get down the hill and 1.5 to get back up. All age groups are welcome. We seen families doing it... More

The place is just stunning, amazing views. The gorges looks perfect. But.... Yes always a but... Access is forbidden due to boulder fall risk... So the gate to the gorge is locked. 2 options... Go down at your own risk or drive back...

Located in the mountain, from Avola (exit highway A18), take the direction Cava Grande. 15 min drive in the mountain until the canyon. Parking on site 3€. 45 min to walk in a rocky trail to the bottom. hard for knies and legs. When close to the small river, nice natural pools along the rocks. Water fresh but nice when... More
