Nice clean market in a small harbour city. Better to visit the lacquerware producers and the museum. Careful, in this village you can starve if you miss the lunch hour at 2 pm.

Very interesting to explore and understand the lives of the local. Open your eyes to look out for hidden treasures here. In the midst, there is this Go NAGAI Wonderful Museum you may like to visit if you are interested in Japanese cartoon.

A medium size market where you can buy fresh, marinated or dry seafood, lacquer, souvenir etc. People are very friendly. There's a small hut where you can buy fresh seafood and bbq using charcoal there for free. It was really fun and love it. Try...More

Two or three blocks long. Lots of fish, including fugu (the poisonous blowfish) and lots of dried octopus. Also can find stores with the famous lacquerware.

Even though we had to look from under umbrellas, the array of fresh and dried seafood was amazing. There were many lacquerware stores and the staff were very helpful. A few antique stores also which were a delight to look through. We found a lovely...More

It was supposed to be one of the three largest outdoor market in Japan but frankly it's a little disappointed to me. Other than the old ladies selling mostly dried seafood and lots of lacquer ware I don't feel much excitement. I m not sure...More

The asaichi (morning market) on the streets of Wajima Onsen was one of the best of the dozens I had visited in my recent three-year stay in Japan. It is a must-see spot. It features lots of locally-caught fish: fresh and dried, salt and fresh...More

It was raining when we arrived at the morning market so it wasn't really crowded. A little bit mendukosai to look at the goods because of the umbrellas. I find the place cleaner compared to the morning market in Hakodate. Most of the goods that...More
