Much has been written on this famed attraction and that's the reason we stop by enrouting Noto Peninsula. Unfortunately the best time to visit, if you want to see green Pardi field would be in later part of the year, September. Notwithstanding, the place provides a good contrast scenery shots for photographers. Between deep blue sea and gentle sloping farmlands.... More

I had high hopes of visiting the illuminated paddy fields as this more unique. We arrived at 4pm, but the lights start up at 5pm (dims at 9pm). It was cold, cloudy and had some light drizzle so we took some pictures and stayed in the coffee shop. There wasn't really much to see, paddy fields on a slope and... More

Semmaida - meaning 1000 pieces of rice field, actually has 1004, is located right beside the seashore, giving a spectacular view and tranquil environment. As its beside the seashore, can get very windy.

At the beginning I thought these terraced rice fields are so common in Asia so I almost wanted to skip it. But when I am here how they have been creating the contours and viewing spots I am sure these worth all the acclaims. It is another attraction with different views at different seasons of the year. I will come... More

What an incredible place. It's amazing where rice can be grown!! We did have rain and there was little shelter but would encourage people to go there anyway.

Took the one day bus trip from Kanazawa. Only have 20 mins here. But the view was great. One of the better attractions for the day trip. It would have been nice to spend at least an hour here slowly take in the view and stroll down the rice field. With 20 mins can Only take a quick peak an... More

Stop and have a quick look if you are passing anyway, but certainly don't take a taxi from Waijima specially - it's much further than it looks on the map and a cab costs a fortune.

We enjoyed visiting these terraces especially for the combination of the rice fields and the sea. We have seen rice terraces in Vietnam and China. This one is not comparable to Sapa in Vietnam or the ones in Chaina, still it is a nice site.
