Whether you arrive by the monorail from Ofuna, or via the fascinating train journey from Kamakura, the two stations are very close together. So it is very easy to combine visits to Ofuna, Kamakura and Enoshima in a one day trip from Tokyo, provided you...More

The island is so pretty jammed packed with things to do! Beware the stairs are no joke! not really suitable for wheelchairs however they do have a pay by use lift. I would visit again.

Great island to explore- very popular with both international and domestic tourists and well set up to meet high demand. Expect a lot of seafood dining (Shirashi-Rice is most famous : small fish on rice), flattened squid crackers, freshly made Japanese sweets and a lot...More

It's not that attractive sightseeing spot. It took you about 15 minutes walk from the train station. If you are looking for shopping, I think you'd better go back to Komachi Street. Not much things to see in the island.

My favourite place in Japan is definitely Enoshima island! The temples are nice, the flowers are beautiful, but the best of all is the view! I had a really fun day. The best part was having lunch on the sun with a view of the...More

We went to Enoshima in April, and on arrival, sat down by the river to have a picnic as the young children with us were hungry. Immediately, from out of nowhere it seemed, we were attacked by huge birds - hawks, we found later -...More

Nice view, nice food and nice people. Spent at least a day there. Lots of walking but it's worthy. My wife wanted to try the onsen but was rejected due to tattoo.

Do not visit Fujisawa without a hike up to the stunning summit of Enoshima Island. I wish I had spent more time there when I lived there. As with many Japanese experiences a hike to the top of Enoshima Island, the journey is as enjoyable...More

How can I get to Enoshima Island from Hiratsuka? I am visiting Japan in January. Thank you!

There are three ways to get there. 1. From Jr. Hiratsuka train station, take local Tokaido line train that heads Tokyo/Yokohama, and get off at Fujisawa station. And then, transfer to Enoden train that heads to Kamakura... More

Can you have tattoos at Enoshima Beach?
22 July 2016|
Response from Simplyko | Reviewed this property |
Tattoos are generally frowned upon in Japan. However, since it is a beach and not a private spa, there will be no one to deny you entry. If you are worried, try to be discreet about it.
