This gallery has the most impressive collection of Sultan Idris's belongings. It traced the origins of the Perak Sultanate and how the system of succession works. Probably everything we want to know of the Sultan can be found in this gallery. From this gallery we can learn about the Sultan's contribution to the nation which is really a lot, ranging... More

This is one of the recommended attractions in the charming royal town of Kuala Kangsar. I visited the Gallery on a Sunday after paying a nominal entrance ticket, there were very few visitors and had the whole place to myself. The gallery chronicles the life of the late Sultan Azlan Shah, the Father of the current Sultan of Perak featuring... More

My four year old was very impressed by the fact that she was visiting the 'home' of a king and queen (she calls all royalty that). A very well curated gallery, in a space that is cavernous and at the same time maze like. Worth the RM4 admission ticket for adults (concessions available for pensioners).

If you are a fan of royalty, then this is definitely your place, as the gallery exhibits a variety of personal belongings of the Perak royal family, particularly of the late Sultan Azlan Shah, from crown jewels and royal attires to watches, medals and old photographs of all sorts. Even though I'm not a big fan of royalty, I found... More

This building is full by collection of the sultan perak and his family. For those who want to gain your knowledge for the life style of Malaysia sultan I believe this is the good place for you to explore your self. The only disadvantage is we are not allow to take photo for all the gallery inside. Probably the best... More

Very quiet due to Ramadan and being mid-day, we almost had the place to ourselves. This is a series a large ornate rich/colonial style building housing the Sultan's accumulated possessions and detailing the history of the family and the state of Perak. An internationally respected figure, the Sultan took his turn as Elected King of Malaysia 1989-1994. There are amazing... More

Perched atop a hill overlooking a majestic Perak river, a very pleasant tour of the museum which was actually the Sultan Idris Former castle. Interesting collections of the late Sultan exhibits here, he sure has plenty to show, and a true King himself indeed. The only thing you need here are guides services to facilitate guided tour services.

My son search this museum via internet and my whole family went there during the last school holiday break. The gallery is easy to locate via Google Maps. In the gallery, you would find all the late Sultan collections from his childhood time, student time until he was the Yang Dipertuan Agong of Malaysia. The gallery is very well organised... More

This gallery has two main buildings and gave me two conflicted feelings. On one hand, one half of this gallery shows all kinds of stuff related to the Sultan. You get all kinds of things displayed like his sunglasses, watches, pictures, etc etc. The casual visitor is not going to really feel anything about this (unless he/she is really into... More
