i was quiet bored actually with this visit. The outside where you can already see the cranes gathering was more interesting than the view from the observation centre itself. maybe we went at the wrong time (the place opens at 9am from what i read)...More

We caught the shinkansen fom Kagoshima to Izumi station, wanting to catch the train from the station to see the cranes, we were 30 minutes too late. :( The last bus leaves Izumi station at 3.53pm. See photo below of bus timetable.

We arrived quite late to the center, but even then there were a very substantial number of cranes to see.Definitely a must see for any Birder.
