I loved cave and visited several before. They were all different if you watched them closely. Ryugado Cave was a good cave to visit. The inside was narrow. You might need to crawl a bit but you could see the limestones in close distance. They...More

We went as part of a group bus tour from our cruise ship. The guide warned us numerous times about how slippery it will be and sure enough we had been off the bus about 2 minutes and slipped on the way to the bathrooms...More

The caves allow you to come up close and personal with stalactites and stalagmites- such as the jellyfish, then bats fly overhead and you get feelings that you walk with the ancient people that once lived here. The Japanese have cleverly looked after everything and...More

I love caves but this one left me a bit underwhelmed. Perhaps it was the 'unnaturalishness' especially of the first half. Or maybe the lack of stalagmites and stalagtites. The second half had more and was more enjoyable.... That said, it is a very long...More

While the natural caves are very nice, they are not well-kept. Walkways and railings are necessary, but often interfere with or destroy the natural caves. Outside the caves, the market area has some charm, but also some dismal, depressing scenes - for example, a famous...More

The ryugadou area is marked by the usual tourist trappings in the lead up to the caves. The area is very picturesque and in the summer as you approach the entrance to the cave you will be greeted by a cool breeze. You can take...More
