This Japanese garden alias museum is meant to be admired from the outside. No one walks the raked paths or smells the flora. Everything has to be admired from within a nice structure, from behind glass windows

There is no doubt that the artwork in this Museum is outstanding and well worth getting a audio guide to truly appreciate them. The collection is outstanding! As well as the artwork the entire museum is set among the most elegant and simply devine gardens...More

This was again one of those lovely Japanese surprises, a place that you don't know of but leaves you pleased that you went there. The gardens are beautiful and the posters of the gardens in the four seasons shows how lovely they are throughout the...More

One of the best beautiful Japanese garden. You can enjoy any season here,But I recommend that you’d better to visit there in Autumn.Colored leaves and mountains view were amazing. You can rent English voice guidance,It works well.

A truly stunning garden. The backdrop of the hills in the distance, the blue sky, and the reds, oranges, and greens of the garden are a sight to see.Grab a seat by the window and enjoy the view. The artwork is constantly rotating, and they...More

The gardens are excellent to look at, but you are unable to walk through the garden which was very disappointing. It is very commercialised, and left me feeling like it was a bit of a waste of time. I travelled there on the hope of...More

The museum houses about 1500 paintings and sculptures, all by Japanese artists. While it doesn’t have any piece that a casual art fan would know, the presentation and efficient use of space are impressive. The staff here do an excellent job enforcing a good environment...More

Near Matsue, this is one of the most beautiful we have visited. Perfectly sculpted settings - water (sand) and trees (pine) and rocks (islands) evoking a picture postcard. If you are in the area, Matsue is quite a ways from Tokyo, Adachi is not to...More

The art museum is interesting but the stand out feature of this place is the garden. Breathtaking, perfect and all the myriad other superlatives one's feeble vocabulary can muster. It is a work of art in its own right and what a masterpiece. Every aspect...More

I wish TripAdvisor would allow additional stars for rating exceptional places. Were that the case I would award about 8 stars to the Adachi Museum of Art. This is unquestionably the most beautiful garden I've seen in Japan or anywhere else; add to that the...More

It's quite far away. It takes about 3.5 - 4 hours from Kyoto to Yasugi (about 390 km). It will cost around 12,000 yen (one way). Take the Nozomi bullet train from Kyoto to Okayama (it's 3 stops). Then, transfer to the JR... More
