We expected to be taken by the Baroniet Rosendal but were disappointed. Maybe we missed something. The garden was not at its best due to the timing of our visit however we did expect more.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry the visit somehow disappointed you. Maybe you missed the view to the waterfall above the garden? Or the lovely rhubarb cake made by our french chefs in the Garden Café? Or one of the many events in the Red Room or the Court Yard? Or maybe the... More

We spent a couple of hours there and it didn't worth the trip from Odda.. too expensive for what it is. The employees were not very welcoming neither.

When you visit Baroniet Rosendal this is a great place to have lunch. It´s clean, tidy and the service is good. The food is freshly made, just say what you want. Then you can get on a tour or the Baroniet and afterwards walk round the rose garden and smell the beautiful roses.

The Baroni is our pride. It´s really a must see place if you are on the west coast of Norway. come here when the Rosegarden are blooming, and it will be the most beautiful thing you´ve ever seen. I can also recommend a concert in the outdoor backyard.

The garten has a lot of flower and it is nice to have a look at, but 2 hours are more than enough. Ok we had some rain, so if it is sunny it could be a nice place to relax and sit down. But I was expecting something more, since you have to pay to enter.

Came here with friends yesterday. We visited just the gardens, which cost us 75 Krona each. The gardens were just beautiful and the perfect size to walk around. Everything is very accessible. The toilets were good! We had lunch in the garden restaurant, and the food was fresh and tasty, with generous portion sizes. We had the crayfish salad and... More

Our hotel recommended that we change dour route back from Hardangerfjord to visit Rosendal and we were really pleased that we did. Not only were the gardens beautiful, and the house tour very interesting, but to have lunch outdoors at the Garden room made the whole visit outstanding.

Thank you for your kind words, We´re so glad to hear that you had a nice experience, both at the guided tour at the Manor and in the garden. The lunch is made of really local produce: salads and vegetables from the kitchen and herb garden, and local produce from a neighboring farm. Next time you should attend a nice... More

The house tour is well-given and covers the different historical periods of the barony; due to lack of a male heir, the house passed several centuries ago to the Danish king, but then the family Rosenkrone acquired it and the baronetcy, and lived there until 1927.

Rosendal has a lot of cultural acctivety to offer centered around the smal Barony. Wonderful mountains to climb right from the fjord up to more than 1.000 meters height. Good trails.

Thank you for your review! Especially Malmangernuten in the middle of Rosendal (889 m) and Melderskin (1426 m) right behind the Manor House offer a fantastic view over the village and the Hardangerfjord. From Melderskin you also get a stunning view to the Folgefonna glacier! There is also an easy little hike (or bike trip) to Skalafjell (you'll find it... More
