As mentioned in reviews, it is actually in Baugnez, with the memorial at the crossroads with an American flag and flower garden in the shape of a star. The massacre site is across the road and down a little where a field meets a forest edge. At the time of this review there was a building across the road on... More

Moving but very simple monument to the massacre of US soldier by the SS during the Battle of the Bulge. Very easy to drive past and not even notice it, as we did twice! It looks like a bus stop unfortunately and should be better designed and implemented. It doesn't help that it is not located in Malmedy but is... More

If you are familiar with the history of the second world war you will have heard of the Malmedy massacre. A fitting memorial has been built on the site of the atrocity. Worth a visit, and there's a good war museum very close too.

Tried to find this many times as it shown in the wrong location on TripAdvisor (I'll try and change it). Visit here after going to the Baugnez 44 Historical centre just up the road to know what it's all about.

There is a proper memorial building at the spot where 87 or so American POWs were executed by German SS. I think the environment changed from being an open meadow-landscape to one with some buildings around the crossroads here.

Parking is available at the museum just to the west of the memorial. The names of the soldiers who lost their lives are listed on the low wall.

A small memorial for the murder on 80 american soldiers during the december month of 1944. Combine the visit to the memorial with a visit to the very good 'Baugnez 44 Historical center' 100 meters down the road. PAY ATTENTION: the sign on the Tripadvisor map will bring you to a residential area in Malmedy. the correct adress is: Route... More

It is great to see that the victims of this massacre are still remembered. While we were there the garden was being cared for and the memorial is well taken care of. If you are visiting the museum over the road please take the time to visit this memorial.

Take an hour out your day and stop just to remember those that perished here. How awful are the horrors of war and the innocent people that died on all sides.

Makes your remember that in war the rule of fairness and honour can be lots. A fitting memorial to the men who were murdered by the SS during that eventful and infamous day
