Just an amazing field of flowers with Mt. Yotei in the background. May is the best time to go to see everything in full bloom. The flowers start to fade in color by June. No cost but sometimes parking is hard to find.

Not much more to say but look at the pictures. The local farmer opens the site to the public every year.

You can park nearby if it’s quiet or walk in from one of the larger car parks 300-500m away.

We saw a picture of the this pink moss park at the ice cream counter over at Fukidashi Park. The lady told us it is a picture of her grandfather's park but could not give us further info. We were lucky to have met a local later in the park who told us to head towards Kutchan.

This park is much smaller than the one in the east - Higashimokoto Shibazakura Park but it is by no means less spectacular and it has Mount Yotei in the background! Further more, it is free. You can imagine how passionate and proud the owner is in opening this to the public! There is not even a single commercial entity around for the owner to recoup some cost! This is really an amazing place to appreciate the beauty of the season!

The flowers smells very nice and look really pretty. I recommend people to use a long sleeve or long pants because so many bugs that might bite you very often so its better to cover your skin.

Other than that , a must visit place when in Kutchan..

Was there on 13 June. Flowers in bloom, not all though. Can imagine how beautiful it will be when it is in full bloom. It was a pity the day we went was raining and cloudy and foggy. So we did not see Mt Yotei. Not many people so you can enjoy walking around the garden and take photos

Was there on 9 May 2018. No flowers... very flat... so sad... Spotted Mishima san working on the garden.. He looked serious so I dare not speak to him. Give it some time. By end May should be able to see the moss... Backdrop super beautiful with Mt Yotei.

Our son lives and works in near by Niseko and has been here with his girlfriend on numerous occasions, so it came highly recommended. We visited on our last morning before flying back to Tokyo. Stunning garden in a stunning location, worth half an hour of your time if you in the area, and its free :-)

I was undecided earlier whether to drive there all the way from Hakodate (which took about 2hr 50km) to visit this little garden, and also unsure whether the pink moss was blooming yet, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise!

My whole family including my 8 year-old son absolutely loved it! We spent about 40 minutes there appreciate the flowers and taking pictures. If the weather is good, one should also be able to see Mount Yotei in the backdrop.
