Nice Castle Ruin

Although the cherry blossom are not in full bloom yet, the ground of this castle ruin is really nice. Worth a visit.

A beautiful place to stop and especially in January if you can catch the cherry blossoms in bloom. It's an amazing view and on a clear day you'll be able to see Izena and Iheya islands in the distance.

This was my favorite castle ruins because it has a great view of the ocean and a variety of flowers and butterflies around. There is also a museum. I don't remember if it is free, but if not I definitely wouldn't pay to go in to the museum. The castle requires a ticket. Easy parking and refreshments are available.

We were a week early for the cherry blossom festival at this site but there were a few early blooms. Lots of walking and some very steep and long steps to one of the farthest areas of the site. Some beautiful views of the East China Sea and surrounding areas. For better and free veiws of cherry blossoms head to... More

Lots of stairs and stone steps, better equipped with proper foot wear. I believed place would be nicer if it is Sakura flowering season. View from the top is magnificent, good photo stops. Not a huge place, can complete in less than an hour

A World Heritage site, with large area to explore. The descriptions are in English as well. Gives some insight into Japan's past. The museum next to it (part of the ticket cost), did not really have much though.

This World Heritage site was a castle in ancient times but today all that is left are parts of the surrounding stone walls and some outlines of where the houses were. Entry fee was 400 Yen per head.

An interesting attraction close to the Aquarium, Nakijin Castle Remains is an Unesco World Heritage. A bit disappointing for those looking for breathtaking ruins - there is nothing left of the original castle - only the surrounding walls, which resembles the Great Wall of China, and a small shrine (built later, I guess). At least it has a nice panoramic... More

Very simple and beautiful. Will take you about 30 to 45 minutes to see. Has some over loping views of the ocean. Definitely enjoyed the castle remains.

This was a great place to see! Only 400 yen to see the ruins. Just a simple hike to the top and you're done. The view from the top is incredible. The signage is in English as well so if you can't read Japanese you're good. We went on a very blustery afternoon and it was perfect! Felt like you're... More
