We visited Cape Point on our first day in South Africa and were impressed by the lighthouse and the museum as well as the views. Conversely the Cape of Good Hope was a disappointment as it was very crowded, difficult to park and only a sign to look at! Probably worth a visit if going to Cape Point but not... More

We used Google Maps; but, it's best to download directions and maps as connectivity is not very reliable. This site is different than Cape Point where the light houses, restaurant, gift shop, etc., are located. No toilets here. Check this off your bucket list.

The 45 minute walk from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope is one of the most stunning walks you can do. The flora, the forna and the beautiful sea views make the few more crumbling sections near the end worth the effort. If you are on the Cape Point Explorer bus tour they will pick you up at... More

How often do you get a chance to visit the very tip of a continent? The Cape of Good Hope is a must see on any visit to Cape Town. The road getting their is winding and scenic and there are a good few places to stop along the way for photographs. Just watch out for the wild ostriches! It... More

This is definitely a sight to visit when in Cape Town. The drive to Cape Point is very nice as it passes through a number of popular destination along the coast. The drive takes about an hour and half, sometimes more in the summer season. You can walk up or take the funicular which can save you time. I'd recommend... More

I did a solo tour on a bus with several other passengers. Although it started off foggy, the guide was excellent in relaying a lot of the history of the area as well as current affairs. We visited two areas: the first was the actual point of land that has the old and new light house. You can take a... More

After always hearing of the Cape of Good Hope we just had to see it first hand. We were told it should have been named the Cape of Storms but to entice sailors to travel that direction around the cape it was misnamed to make it more attractive. It was terribly windy there and the picture we took standing beside... More

Worth driving to Cape Point and doing the whole Cape starting from Simon’s Town and back to Hout Bay. Cape of Good Hope has amazing views, breath taking beaches and natures beauty all around you.

Cape of Good Hope was the place where we first saw baboons "in action". They were not afraid at all and were looking what to steal. Nature is gorgeous here and the views are stunning!
