An amazing trip! First you ride up the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, so called that when the fog rolls in, it looks like the mountain is covered by a tablecloth. From the top, there's a panoramic view of Capetown and the ocean. Many locals and visitors hike and/or rappel up the mountain which is covered with... More

It is one of the new 7 wonders of nature. I went with my colleagues during the season changing from autumn to summer. The sunshine was so harsh, but the wind blowed very strong. It's a really enjoyable weather, so I did enjoy it with a pine of beer. : ) The view on top of the mountain was simply... More

...we nearly did. Our first 2 attempts to go up the mountain by cable-car were frustrated through strong winds. When we did get up there it was so well organised. To be honest there is no huge advantage pre-booking tickets, maybe the pre-booked line went slightly faster but don't be put off. We were able to find parking on the... More

We hiked up and it was pretty amazing. One tip take the longer route if you do not have the right gear or experience with climbing. It may take you an hour longer but better be safe because the short-cut is quite steep and at there is one point where there is no turning back :) My dad and me... More

We were on a half day city tour of Cape Town when our guide announced "the Table Mt. cable car just opened". Apparently due to Cape Towns common winds this attraction is closed down quite often. The cable car had been closed all morning so we drove to Table Mountain. We beat the crowds, got out tickets, and were on the cable... More

It is a wonderful experience to go with the cable car and enjoy the view on a clear day. You can see forever. It is a must for a traveller.

We only had a week in Cape Town and every day the mountain was closed due to the winds. The one day it was open we queued for 3 hours but wow was it worth it. The views were out of this world, we had a bottle of champagne when we got up there and it was magical. So glad... More

On our first day in Cape Town, we took advantage of the Sunset discount at Table Mountain. It was a brilliant ride up on the cable car and the views from the top were spectacular. It was to be our first encounter with the little dassies! As we descended, the clouds started to roll over, like immense waves breaking over... More
