While staying at Chidambara Vilas, we decided to tour the surrounding area. Thus we visited Athangudi Tiles factory. I have seen many videos of these tiles and their history. So visiting the place was very exciting. They have a resident guide to explain the process. The visit will only take about 1 hour.

It was great to witness the process of hand painted tile making at Ganapathy Tiles. They are beautiful, cheap (at Rs.20/- per tile when ordered in bulk) and artistic. Pay the artisans a small tip for their demo and dont forget to take a tile or two as a souvenir.
