If you're looking for great views and a relaxing trip you should really consider come to Chihuahua and take a trip all the way through La Sierra Tarahumara to Topolobampo Bay in El Chepe Train. El Chepe ventures into the imposing landscapes of the sierra Tarahumara and you will be able to know the most representative characteristics of the Tarahumara... More

In planning our visit to Copper Canyon my girlfriend and I came across a host of information, but much of it was dated and some bits were at odds with other bits. In one Trip Advisor thread I noticed a reply by a fellow named Les who operated an outfit called Copper Canyon Adventures. I emailed Les with a couple... More

We took the Chihauhua Pacific (Chepe) from El Fuerte station to Barrancas and back. We were advised that El Fuerte was a good boarding station because the line from Los Mochis to ElFuerte is really not very scenic. and adds about 2 hours to the trip. El Fuerte station is about 15 minutes south of El Fuerte. We left El... More

Copper canyon adventures was extremely helpful to us. We are two independent travelers who usually have no need for help with travel plans. Copper canyon has its challenges if your not with an organized tour. Train tickets, other transportation needs, hotels and activities all need to be finely coordinated. Les Mahoney helped me with train tickets and offered other assistance... More

We did a one week trip with Copper Canyon Adventures. They picked us up in Los Mochis and drove to El Fuerte where we spent the first two nights. A trip on the river to see birds and petroglyphs was included. Then we boarded the El Chepe Train for a 6 hour ride to Barrancas where we stayed the next... More

Really nice views and great attention throughout the trip, loved Posada Barrancas, left from Chihuahua to Los Mochis maybe it would be best to leave from Los Mochis because most of the views other wise in the last part of the trip are with no light in this time of the year. We were not able to see any snow... More

We took the 1st class train - grab a spot between the carriages at the open windows for the best photography. If not then sit in your sit an enjoy the view. All the best scenery, interesting turns are in the El Fuerte to Creel section.

A fantastic way to see this part of Mexico. I rode the section from El Fuerte to Barrancas del Cobre. Nice restaurant car in first class. Comfortable and clean. It is a memorable experience.

We got on El Chepe in Los Mochis. We did not buy first class tickets as the only real difference was the price! The train departs at 6am and you are fine purchasing your ticket on the day of departure, at least at this time of year. The views were breathtaking and the train very comfortable. I frequently went to... More
