Climb the hill behind the visitor centre well in advance

Train times are displayed in the visitor centre. There is a notice board on the wall, just ask. It can get crowded when coaches with tours arrive.

At least this Place is a must to see for all Harry Potter fans! If you are not, then the attractive scenes & viaduct itself placed into hills and lakes, glens & lochs, is worth of seeing. If you will arrive By car (or road) A833 it will be easily reach. There is also a small P-area, from where only... More

It truly is a sight to see! We hiked up the small hill behind the visitor center between the Glenfinnan Monument for Prince Bonnie Charlie and the viaduct, and it was just gorgeous. What a memorable view. Truly a must see!

We visited the viaduct during our tour around the Highlands. We didn't get to go on the train so decided to drive to the area and walk to the viaduct. We are so glad we did. We followed previous TripAdvisor reviews and used the small free car park beyond the visitors centre car park. We did need our walking boots... More

Always delights when I get to visit here, Beautiful scenery, very tranquil, the viewpoint is worth the small trek for the unspoilt view. Not just for Potterheads, steeped in more history. Definitely worth a Visit

Given we had the perfect crisp fall day in early November, this view is absolutely spectacular and cannot be missed on a trip to the Highlands. 100% walk to the viaduct instead of the view from visitor center -- can see the curvature of the rail and is amazing Notes: - From the visitor center walk over the bridge (monument... It's about a 10 minute walk from the car park to get your view of this film location. An enthusist could calculate the Jacobite Trains expected arrival at the bridge for that very special photo op, but long & short, It's an easy detour if you are in that area, and if you are a fan of the movies, it's... Great little walk up to a fantastic view point looking over loch sheil. Particularly nice at sunset! The viaduct is great too!

It is a bit of a hike up the hill and you need to pay a few pounds for parking but it is well worth it. The view is spectacular!
