A lot of reviews of Philippine beaches mention more famous names, but Alona Beach still comes up often in searches for the best beach in the Central Visayas region. Bohol is one island north of Mindanao island where there has unfortunately been a lot of...More

Alona is a really touristic place with nothing special to do. If you are going to stay there don't spend more than 3 days. The only good things to do are scuba diving in Balicasag island (really beautiful) and snorkeling in pamilacan island

Was only in Bohol for 2 days and stayed in a hotel on Alona Beach. It's a really nice place to relax and beautiful clean waters. It's like Phuket without the glitz. Love it!

Fair beach, noisy club, expensive food in alone beach. But you can find the shops for everything easily. So the good thing to live near the beach only is convenient to access tourist shops. But if you're looking for a relaxing quiet beach, you could...More

Had conflicting advise about Alona beach - some said was awesome, some said it was too touristy. We were only here for a few days and other than a couple of drunken europeans chatting up the locals, it was pretty family friendly. There's lots of...More

It is a nice white sand beach, not very big though. It's a most happening beach on Panglao. There are many bars and restaurants. Bars on the beach and around open till very late. Best area to party in Panglao.

This is what I imagined a tropical beach would be. From the crystal clear water to the white sands and palm trees, the views were superb. The nice little shops and cafes set along the beach front made for an idyllic setting. And, the water...More

This is a nice beach. Through the day it isn't too busy and not to many people trying to sell you things, although there are some. The sand is white, the sea is beautiful and nice to paddle in although not advised to swim as...More

Don't stop at the first one you see! So many good places and average places to choose from. The beach isn't amazing, but it's not too bad either. Definitely many better options for beaches. Nightlife wasn't great, but we were there in the rainy season.
