We were staying in Siena and fancied visiting one of the nearby Terme. We took the advice given to us by our Air B&B host to visit Terme Antica Querciolaia. The 107 bus from Porta Ovile dropped us just a short walk from the entrance to the Terme. Reception staff were helpful and spoke English. We brought our own towels but all those in the know had brought their own flip flops and bathrobes. Changing facilities were fine, lockers are 2 euro which is returned to you. The pools themselves were excellent, we went on a Monday and there was plenty of room and plenty of sun loungers to be had. The pools were nice and warm and clean. There is a slight smell of rotten eggs but you soon get used to that and get on with enjoying the experience. Make sure you take some body wash for the shower when you are finished using the pools. There are 5 outdoor pools and 2 indoor. There is also a cafe but a lot of people brought their own food and drink All in all a very enjoyable day. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back…

My adult family wanted a spa that had the health baths as well as the messages and steam and saunas. We were not disappointed. This spa has everything at a very reasonable price, but bring along you towels, robes, soap and shampoos for the showers you take after the baths or messages/facials. Loved the outside setting and the inside set up as well. It was ultra clean, hooray. The cafe had good snacks to buy. All prices were very reasonable. .…

We chose this particular spa for its location, but compared to the others we considered, this lacked in amenities. However, you get what you pay for. At €13 per person (weekday afternoon), it provided locker rooms in which to change, lockers for €2 (refundable when you put the key back in), use of a toilet, shower, and hairdryers. But they don’t provide any soap, shampoo or conditioner, so if you don’t bring your own, your shower is simply a clean water rinse. Outside the locker rooms, there were 2 indoor and 5 or 6 outdoor thermal spa pools, ranging from warm to warmer to hot. The sulphur smells weren’t as bad as some reviewers suggested, which was good. And there were plenty of chaise lounge chairs available for use. Their website noted rules such as keeping the noise down, showering before use of the pools, and not using any floats in the pools (among other rules), but we saw plenty of foam rings (floats) and lots of new arrivers going straight in the pools without showering. (Hot/cold faucet showers were next to every pool entrance.) The cafe was also a disappointment, but that could’ve been due to the time we ate. We wanted a late lunch around 16:00, and the cafe was open for business, but had minimal offerings left by that time. Only a few prosciutto sandwiches, fruit cups, pastries, ice cream and drinks. All in all, the visit was a no-frills, different way to spend a few hours. If given the choice in future, we’d probably try one of the other Termes instead.…

We visited as a group and all had different treatments. My Synergy massage was excellent and pinpointed all my problem areas without any need to highlight. The pools outside were lovely and warm, and you get used to the sulphurous smell pretty quickly. Everything was clean and friendly. …

Great little place to spend an afternoon. I personally loved that it was not crowded and the placement of the pools within the park and grass gave visitors a lot of freedom. I would like to believe the water healing properties are also worth it. Loved how hot the water was in a few of the pools and enjoyed the inside pool option as well. The price asked for extra stuff that travelers may not have (like robes, towels, slippers etc) I felt was too high. Loved the fact that they do not allow eating or drinking in the pools areas, keeps things clean and civilized. Lovely for a chilly snny day in spring!…
