The majestic appearance of the water source &cascade, the lush green surrounding, winding shaded footpath that goes along the river with mini waterfalls all along and the cool environment make this an ideal place for spending half a day or a full day, walking, reading or simply lazing around.

We visited after a couple of days of rain , not sure if that made any difference but the cascade was beautiful, springing straight out of the rock face. Choose to go yearly summer when the water is in full flaw , long walk down for people with walking difficulty , other wise just a nice place

I didnt liked the source, as it is not reacheable, but when you walk about 200 meters down the river, and find your way down the steep hill, you will find the beautiful cherry... See my pics, this was the best of all jurassic cascades for me!

This is nice visit to do if you don't have a lot of time. You can spend 20 minutes or 2 hours. You can go down a little bit along the river and put your feet in the water and you will see how cold it is. The path is made of rocks so make sure you have good shoes.... More

Walking to the 'hole in the rock' where the water first appears is just great. The area is beautiful and the water is s naturally cold (very cold) and refreshing on a hot summer's day.

You have to pass by la Source de Loue if you have the chance to! It's a lovely place for a nice walk in the middle of nature ;-)

This area is a mere 2 hour drive from Geneva. The scenery is gorgeous. Mountains with bare faced cliffs alternate with green meadows. The Loue River has several lovely towns on its banks. Not the prettiest source in the area (in my opinion the three-for-one falls at the source de Lisson is prettier) but it is quite a spectacle. There is a cafe and tourist shop at the car park at the top of a short walk down to the hole in the cliff and the hydroelectric complex (not used either shop so... More

We had seen paintings of the Source by Courbet and thought maybe he had exaggerated the 'mystery' of this place but that was not the case. After about a 20 minute walk, downhill, you reach the Source which is a waterfall with a huge rockface hanging over it. It's quite impressive and you can see how it would have inspired... More
