We really found this museum very interesting, quite fascinating too. And theres a lot of information in English. It's free entry and €1 for the very good information sheet, we highly recommend it, children would find it good too. We spent two hours there it was excellent.

Well presented Timber Museum. Of the four museums in Schiltach, this was the most interesting. Easily accessible from the town, right along the river. The raftsman are an interesting concept, unusual to Americans. Worth the vist!

"Flössermuseum" This is an interesting little museum located by the Kinzig river in Schiltach. I do recommend this museum, it is really interesting. When I was there, in summer 2012, the entrance was free, although donations are accepted. (And there is a small charge, 1 Euro as I remember, for a leaflet with an English translation of the written information.)... More
