Zwiesel is a beautiful town with the lovely Zwiesel glass factory outlet and the pyramid. The first time we saw it was at night which was interesting

The glass pyramid is just outside the Schott Zwiesel outlet shop. One can observe artisans blowing crystal glass and pick up some great bargains in the shop.
There is also a bakery/cafe with delicious German bread and cakes.
The perfect stop over in Zwiesel.

Incredible structure, i think it is made from around 100,000 glasses to give an amazing look, and make you want to try it yourself (with less glasses of course).

The pyramid itself is something that you could find outside some shopping mall, and in fact that's pretty close to reality because of the glass shopping mall here. Sure, the pyramid is huge, but I miss the point of it, sorry. The outlet for the glassware is quite nice, if you're in the need of something like that.

They make some of the wares right before your eyes. This is higher quality crystal than others we visited in the area. As for the pyramid - the sign says 93,665 glasses in this structure! Impressive.

We visited the glass pyramid, after parking our car nearby and while staying in the Bavarian Forest town of Zwiesel. This attractive exhibit is situated near to the town centre Glass Factory/ Museum, which is also worth a visit, not only to see the process but also to see the gift shop full of item made out of coloured glass.

Great deals on some super glassware. Also glass blowing. We spent about an hour just shopping for glass. The glass blowers put on a great demonstration.

We did a tour of the Schott Zwiesel factory and had lunch in the café. It is a really interesting way to spend a morning and the café is ideal for a traditional Bavarian lunch of beer and wurst. The glass pyramid is a sight not to be missed.
