Wtih aquaducts, we think about the Roman ones of which brilliant examples can be found in the south of France. Who would expect one so close to Paris ? Not Roman, obviously, it dates from the 17th century. An impressive construction used to transport water from the Seine to the Versailles gardens. The Aquaduct itself cannot be climbed or visited. Try also the cemetary that lies at the eastern part - you can even visit freely the remnants of a 19th century fort direct behind the cemetary.
