Nice pair of statue by Lake Towada and a stone's throw from Towada Shrine. The statue is actually just next to the lake side beach so it's nice for a picnic of rice balls and green tea (or local Oirase beer).
the statue of a virsin was built in 1953 by Kotaro Takamura when we visited there ,the wind was so strong 4 Nov that the lake surface were trembled and very cold.
This statue was made in memory of Chieko Takamura,Kotaro's wife who passed away...More
The draw about Lake Towada is that you are not going to be hit by a whole bunch of commercial attractions. One of the few things to see there is this statue. It is attractive, apparently modeled after the artist's wife.
