What a delight - a quirky family castle full of interest - with the best small tearoom in Scotland - even on a cold January day. The story of the family and the castle runs as a theme through more rooms than I can remember - all from a wide spiral stair - you have to be fit. The restorer,... More

If you're out for a wee drive this weekend this place is well worth a visit! Lovely castle beautifully decorated for Christmas with lots of craft stalls, Santa for the wee ones and a great wee cafe to stop for a bite to eat! Highly recommend! 🎅🏼🎄

We have stayed at the castle accommodation before so popped n for a visit this week when we were nearby again. Still charming & welcoming. Very interesting history, well presented. Refreshing independent. Nearby fishing lake. Beautiful walks through the forest on the grounds, full of gorgeous autumn colours this week.

This was a refreshing change from the usual, very neat but soulless, feel of many National Trust properties. The renovation is a work in progress, the gardens have yet to be revived, but Delgatie Castle is welcoming, friendly and interesting. The personal notes in the histories, the obvious family attachment to the castle, make this a more personal and intimate... More

I visited here whist I was staying with family in the area in July 2015. It was a reasonable price to get in and the staff were very friendly. There was a lot to see in the castle and I found it very informative. Before leaving we went to the cafe and had some tea and cakes. They were very... More

This castle has the tower house open for visitors. Very interesting history and a much more personal experience with the notes written by the owner in the visitor rooms. A bit of a French touch and ceiling beams in some rooms are very interesting. Love the cannons out front and lovely little garden.

On holiday in this beautiful area with our two dogs. As the weather was good we decided to visit Delgatie Castle knowing that we would not be able to enter the castle with dogs but expecting to be able to walk around the grounds and perhaps get something to eat from the Lairds Kitchen. Arrived about 2.00pm and parked on... More

We had a pleasant visit to Delgatie Castle just a couple of miles from the town of Turriff. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The castle itself requires some maintenance as can see it needing fixing in places. Being a privately owned castle, I would think funding is the issue regarding maintenance, Most of the rooms visited were stuffy... More
