Okay we have read a lot of reviews for this castle and I have to say we fall down on the very positive side. We had a fantastic day visiting the castle and wandering round the rooms at our own pace and seeing lots of...More

Delgatie Castle is our choice of where to stay in the Highlands. The accommodations are quite comfortable, trout fishing on site, and centrally located for family activities and whiskey distillery visits. The Laird's Kitchen provides a tasty repast if you don't feel like cooking. The...More

This castle has been lived in until recently, so you see many, many decades of styles combined, truly interesting. It is beautiful, the gardens and the fishery as well. There are many lovely walking paths on the property as well.

The volunteers that run the castle are very helpful and cheery. They let us know they are in the middle of cleaning so there was some dust and some rooms were set for evening functions but this did not detract from the overall enjoyment my...More

Delgatie is such a beautiful castle, that deserves attention. Yes, the tearoom was good and the lovely young girl who greeted us on arrival and later served us tea was charming and first class. However, the 'visitor experience' of the castle tour itself was actually...More

Castle is an amazing historic building, lots to see, but would benefit from better presentation. Rooms were dusty and untidy and approach to castle was scruffy and depressing. A very interesting place though, just more care needed. Cafe and shop are very nive, however.

Visited on the strength of internet reviews, especially with regard to the "Award winning" kitchen. We turned up to what looked like an abandoned and closed property and almost drove away. Wish we had. The staff are friendly enough, and the history, especially as expressed...More

This Castle is run by volunteers. I love meeting friends here for an afternoon cuppa and home bakes.

Yes - I would think so. When we visited, there was a group of 8 women arrived. They were expected and a table had been set out for them with a special afternoon tea selection.
