Despite the museum really being more like a big house with lots of special rooms, there is plenty to see and admire. Every room is filled with wonderful things to look at, and while there are very few English annotations accompanying things on display, any Ghibli fans should not need it, and any friends/family coming along the ride, well, the... Didn't know a lot about ghibli but it was very cute and fun. The building and architecture was adorable and whimsical. The admission was reasonable, approximately $10 usd. The couple with us loved it and are really into ghibli. The attached cafe had good food and deserts but the wait was unbelievable, almost 2 hrs.

My eyes was gleaming the whole time I was there. I loved that we get to learn how the animation films are made as well. You'll have to book in advance, don't wait until the last minute. Online booking process felt very complicated but worth the hustle.

Do not wait until the last minute to get your tickets. You can get your tickets online through 2 different sites directly (link on the Ghibli Museum website) without having to pay $40 USD surcharge to get scalpers to get it for you. The catch is, the tickets online are released a few months ahead and go very quickly (3... More

We finally got tickets to the museum after missing out in 2016. And the effort to the get the tickets was all worth it! It is a small museum however the permanent exhibits showcasing the principles of animation and also the process of developing the animation from storyboarding to drawings to painting were great to see. There was a delightful... More

We picked up our tickets the day it opened for international travelers online and had them mailed to us for an additional expense. Tickets were not particularly pricy compared to the museums here at home but we also had a small convince fee and shipping but we didn't find that we were particularly gouged and felt the it was fairly... The children have a place to play. Picture taking is not allowed inside the museum. You need to get advance ticket since they dont sell tickets at the... More

The building, the exhibits, the atmosphere carries all beauty of Studio Ghibli throughout. This is not a theme park, it is a museum & it feels like you have stepped into the world of Studio Ghibli without being over-crowded by its characters. Although there wasn’t a lot of English information, all the crew spoke English & were very kind. The... More

I've always been a fan of Ghibli cartoons and I was lucky that the time I was in japan, I also met people who shared the same passion and visiting the Ghibli Museum was on our priority list. The place was magical and I bet even the non-Ghibli fans will be enchanted.
