Worth visiting if your close by
Sep 2019
This is a scenic spot at sunset however as many others have mentioned there are a lot of people. You may be able to capture some good photos but it is tricky because of people walking in your way.
We were staying at the Isalo Rock Lodge and it was just a short drive away, I wouldnt come out of my way for it.

Sunset
Dec 2019 • Couples
Crowded around a small hole in the rock with tourists all hoping to get a view of the sunset. A couple of steps to the side you can get a better view of the sunset without the rugby scrum. Interesting but nothing special.

Spot to watch sunset
Nov 2019
The Isalo Window is a good spot to watch the sunset, but it gets a little crowded and good shots are difficult to get with all the people running into one's frame.

Nice afternoon activity
Oct 2019
From the main road it is only a short drive to this rock. Sings indicate that you are not supposed to climb on the rock, but you may climb on the rock behind. We had the luck that we could make a picture with the full moon behind. The area is not recommended for having a sunset pick nick. Apparently it is not safe after sunset.

Worth the extra drive to come here for the sunset
Sep 2019
I almost missed this trip to see the sunset as we had a long day of excursions. Being exhausted by the end of the day so not too excited about a sunset (aren't they all the same everywhere?). Anyway glad I decided to go in the end. It was about two hours drive round trip from Isalo Rock Lodge where we were staying but definitely worth the effort. Granted there were quite a few people there, being THE place for sunset, but wouldn't say it's overcrowded. The odd clusters of jagged rocks in an otherwise wide open and flat area are quite strange and unique and formed a most dramatic setting for the sunset, not to mention tempting to climb on. The rock framed "window" needless to say provided fun photo ops. Furthermore along the way you also get to see other rock formations by the roadside including a seated "queen" - the image of which appears on the local currency.

Not sure what the big deal is about
Oct 2019
At sunset this will be a very crowded place. One gets some nice colours on the surrounding rocks during sunset, but that you would get at other places in the park as well. The window itself is not that special. Note that it is not safe to stay much longer after sunset.

Nice way to end your visit to Isalo
Nov 2019
Beautiful scenery is made all the more beautiful with the sunset. Just wish some of the tourists heeded the sign that said it was forbidden to climb the rocks. Get your position early for the best pictures. Hint: Standing facing the window, step to the right a few paces, and get the sunset at an angle. This provides the best night colors. Also, another good angle to take pictures of the sunset isn’t through the window, but to the left of the rocks. There’s an opening between the window and a rock to the left of it. You can get great pictures of the sky across the savannah.

Beautiful location
Nov 2019
This location is nice to see and i think anywhere in Isalo offers amazing sunsets. The rocks create the magic, i would recommend finding another spot with less people. Stop and see the window, snap a couple of photos and then move on.

Beautiful but crowded
Sep 2019
It's shocking that someplace so far away from everything was so crowded. There were about 100 or so people there to see the sunset through the window. Nevertheless, it is a breathtaking site and area. Going in the 'off' season is supposed to be less crowded.
